Both yes and no. You need the FamilyAlbum app and at least one FamilyAlbum album with photos to get started with the Digital Frame.
To complete setup, a FamilyAlbum account is required - but it can be your own account or that of a family member who already has access to the album in the app.
If you are gifting the frame to someone who doesn’t have a FamilyAlbum account, you have three options:
(1) Ask them to create a FamilyAlbum account
(2) Invite them to join your existing FamilyAlbum album
(3) Complete the initial setup yourself using your own FamilyAlbum account before gifting
In case of (3):
After setup, you can view and manage all the frames connected to your account from the Settings tab in the FamilyAlbum app.
Once gifted, any new photos added to your album will automatically appear on the recipient’s frame.*
*To automatically receive new photos, the frame must remain connected to Wi-Fi at its location.
